The website The Mary Sue reports that robots are being deployed to assist in the search for clues regarding the fate of Amelia Earhart. According to the article, researchers will be aided by sonar mapping and a "high-definition video camera and manipulator arms of a TRV 005 robot."
The renewed search for artifacts pertaining to what happened to Amelia Earhart inspired part of the book I wrote. It doesn't have to do with Amelia Earhart specifically, but I incorporate aircraft salvage as a plot point. I don't try to make the section about anything as specific as a historically relevant wreckage. Instead, it's about a research team that finds something very different.
